We were tasked with collecting and shipping the Frank Proffitt and Peter Kennedy Banjo from the UK to the USA.

The instructions were clear: the contractor at the donor's home needed to pack the banjo using proper materials to ensure its safe and undamaged delivery. The banjo was well-known and fragile, requiring great care in packaging and transportation. It could not be exposed to prolonged temperature extremes, excessive humidity, or dampness.
We accepted the challenge and contacted the shipper to obtain accurate measurements and photographs. This allowed us to have a foam-lined export case made to measure, which we took to the donor's home at the other end of the country. We packed the banjo on-site and returned it to our offices for pre-shipment assessment and final packing.
We then arranged for export on a direct flight to Washington DC, where the banjo was met, customs cleared, and delivered to its final resting place at the Library of Congress.
